The only work-around would be to manipulate the database entries for the documents. Replace the GUIDS of the old documents with the GUIDS of the new documents uploaded.

Hope this helps.

Hello Sir,

This is regarding one sharepoint issue where we are actually struck and dont know the excat resolution. We are researching on this issue from last one month and trying to find out the resolution but no results yet.

Issue:-
=======
-Workflow overdue notification emails.

Error Message:-
=============
You cannot complete this workflow task because the item that the workflow is running on has been deleted. If the item is in your Recycle Bin, restore it, and then try again.

Description:-
==============
-User setup approval workflow for 4-5 documents. While the workflow were "in progress" state, the user accidently deleted the documents before the workflow gets completed and he didn't aware of the fact that he will get the overdue emails in the future.
-The documents were deleted long back and they are not in Recycle bin also as it stores only upto 30 days.
-when the user gets the overdue email, in that mail, there is one link called as " Edit this Task", when the user clicked on that link, it will give error message as mentioned above.

Action taken:-
==========
-Checked Recycle Bin regarding the documents deleted.
-Upload the docments by using the same naming conventions as of deleted documents but no results.
-Use SharePoint Inspector, to look for the SharePoint GUIDS that associated with the workflow but no results.
-Checked database and executed some queries as to cross checked regarding any instances of deleted document remains but no results.

I would really appreciate if you help to resolve this issue or some suggestions as how can i resolve this issue.

Thanks and Regards,
Amol Ghuge

Hey Sarath,
I was wondering if you hit an error while executing shell scripts. I have installed dctm+webClients on both Ubuntu Edgy eft and Feisty Fawn versions. Both these seem to have their sh linked to dash instead of bash. This leads to the failure of many shell scripts used by ora, dctm and wdk installers. btw, I am assuming that the db is ora on the same box

This makes it sound difficult or dangerous. Some points to remember:

1) When a user is removed from your LDAP source, the user is marked inactive. Plus, without having a valid LDAP account, they couldn't connect anyway.

2) To reassign objects from one user, to another, there is a "Reassign User" tool in the Documentum Administrator. This will reassign everything from the old user to the new.

3) The main reason to not "delete" a user is that you lose auditting details from the past. Reassigning their content and marking them inactive locks them out without losing any history.
